Looking to the Past…
The Vermilion Heritage Museum takes you through decades of times gone by, revealing Vermilion’s captivating history. Located in the former S. R. P. Cooper School, several displays are featured. One gallery leads you through the pioneer experience from exploration and to early settlement, depicting the life and times of the early settlers of this area. It will make you appreciate electricity and running water!
Other galleries show visitors what an early business looked like, as well as an agricultural display and general store, and many collectibles too! The Stavelock building showcases an early settler home; in its day, this type of construction was unique to this area.
This year the Museum will be open from 1pm to 5pm, May long weekend to September long weekend or by appointment!
