“The Town of Vermilion Undertakes a Study to Consider a New Community Facility”

Date: August 31st, 2011 | Categories: News | By: | Comments: 0

The Town of Vermilion, in partnership with Lakeland College, has hired RC Strategies to assist Council and Administration in assessing the need for a new community facility. A Needs Assessment will be undertaken over the next few months to more thoroughly explore the need for a new facility including possible facility components.

A key element of this Assessment will include consultation with area residents. Questionnaires will be mailed out to area households in late September or early October to gather feedback. Please look for this in your mail. Consultation will occur with community groups and associations. As well, discussions will be held with the neighboring municipalities, Lakeland College, and other key stakeholders.

“The feedback from our residents is extremely important. I would strongly encourage everyone to participate when given the opportunity to provide input,” said Shawn Bell Director of Community Services for the Town of Vermilion.

Members of the consulting team will be in attendance at the Town of Vermilion Open House on September 21st from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Vermilion Regional Centre to discuss the project and solicit public input.
