In accordance with the Municipal Government Act and the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation the Council of the Town of Vermilion will hold a Public Hearing in consideration of passing Bylaw 3-2020 to establish an off-site levy for land that is to be subdivided or developed within the Town of Vermilion. Off-site levies collected from developers are used to facilitate growth of the community by providing harmonized off-site levy rates for roads, water, sanitary, and stormwater infrastructure that are fair and equitable and comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.


A Public Hearing will be held electronically on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 7:15 p.m. Members of the public are encouraged to watch the live stream video of the public hearing on the Town of Vermilion YouTube Channel.

A copy of the relevant documents are attached below.  Anyone wishing to be heard either directly or on someone else’s behalf may make a written submission. Written submissions must be delivered prior to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2020 to the address indicated below. At the Public Hearing, the chairman will present the written submissions to Council.

Any person who is directly affected by a bylaw imposing a levy for facilities may submit a notice of appeal to the Municipal Government Board not later than 30 days after the bylaw imposing the levy has been passed.
